Matthew 2:13-3:6
Psalm 2:1-12
Proverbs 1:7-9
This section of Genesis is the story of "The Fall." I think the most interesting part of all of this is when God cast Adam and Eve out of the garden and says "The man has become like one of us." Who is us? A little something to think about. Feel free to respond if anyone has ever shed light on this particular passage.
Matt: Egypt, Nazareth, John the Baptist. Angels appearing to Joseph and telling him to go one place, only for Jo and Mary to find out that Harod's son was ruling and go to another town, fulfilling an old prophecy. Why didn't the angles just tell Joseph to go to the places the prophets were foretold and save Joseph and Mary the hardship of going out of the way?! Go get baptized in the River Jordan by John because he has camel hair and lather straps...
Psalm: Um.. Mr. King, your Highness...if you don't mind...would you believe...and fear...God...because if you don't...he will be angry...and his wrath will flare up...and that wouldn't be good for the kingdom...Am I dead now?
Proverbs: Fear the Lord or be ignorant all your days and little boys and little girls, listen to your parents for they are jewelry to be worn...

Nightwish is a band that hales from Finland. They formed back in 1996 and have been rockn' out ever since. The keyboardist is one of the founding members and he is the one that composes all the orchestral parts. They have toured with a live symphony before but I believe he uses a high-end keyboard for all the orchestral sounds. Their sound has evolved over time, but they have stayed true to their original intent: to mix rock with symphonic sounds and music of their homeland (this, of course, is my opinion of their music. Take a listen and see what you think). Each track can stand on it's own as a single but to get the most out of the album, one should really listen nonstop to the whole thing. It really is a through-composed piece of work, meaning that there are no stops in the music. It's almost programmatic (telling a story) in a way. The first track is the bassist speaking in his native tongue of Finnish (about what I cannot find on the interwebs) which flows right into the 2nd track. I think my favorite so far is track 12, although it gets a little strange towards the end with a bunch of voice overs.
If you're into rock or metal, check it out. If you're into symphonic pieces, check it out too. You might like what you hear.
Until next time, dear readers...
